171 AUW full Scholarships for Women in Bangladesh is a diverse community comprised of students, faculty, and staff members from a wide range of economic, cultural, locational (rural/urban), ethnic, and religious backgrounds. The university is required under its Charter to make reasonable efforts to recruit up to 25% of the student body from Bangladesh, but it is otherwise committed to bringing together young women from the entire region – primarily South, Southeast, and West Asia – and to create an environment designed to help them explore their similarities and differences in an atmosphere of mutual respect. The University also accepts “stateless students” and exchange students from the United States, Europe and East Asia, as well as others from outside Asia.

To be considered for admission, an applicant should generally:

  • Have completed 10+2, a total of 12 years of education.
  • Have demonstrated leadership potential and a commitment to work for positive social change.
  • Have received an average of 60% of marks or equivalent grades in the final examinations, including a minimum score of 60% on both English and mathematics exams.
  • Have demonstrated leadership ability through participation in extra-curricular activities and public service.
  • Age not more than 30 years

Requirements: AUW Scholarship essential requirements are as follows:

  • Applicants must have the 12th Degree Qualification of high School
  • National Identity Card or Passport (if any)
  • Letter of Interest (200 Words)

Benefits of Scholarship

Every admitted student is required to pay a one-time non-refundable admission fee amounting to US$600. Scholarship and Financial Aid Committee decide to waive the admission fee for those who demonstrate financial hardship or need.

It costs US$15,000 to send a student for AUW for one year, irrespective of academic program. These fees include all tuition, room and board, books, course supplies, healthcare and student activities.

Transfer Students

Transfer students are encouraged to apply to AUW. To be eligible for admission to AUW, prospective transfer students must:

  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.85 from the transferring institution(s);
  • Have demonstrated leadership potential and a commitment to work for positive social change;
  • Have demonstrated leadership ability through participation in extra-curricular activities and public service.

Entrance Exams and Interviews

AUW reviews applications holistically, focusing on academic excellence, leadership potential, and personal context as demonstrated by their prior academic performance, record of extracurricular activities and community activities, and personal statement.

Shortlisted applicants are invited to sit for a locally administered entrance examination and interview. The entrance examination measures an applicant’s current ability in English communication, mathematics, and critical thinking. The purpose of the interview is to observe and evaluate qualities that may not be evident in the applicant’s examination scores or application forms. These qualities include but are not limited to:

  • An open and inclusive attitude toward those from different countries, cultures, and socio-economic backgrounds
  • Integrity, courage, and resilience in the face of adversity
  • Motivation to learn and collaborate with others
  • Passion and curiosity about the broader world beyond one’s career prospects
